Day 6, Wednesday, July 10th

Today mother nature decided to throw a light to moderate rain shower at us a couple hours before our designated leave time.  Fortunately it had stopped by then but of course the road was very wet and we naturally suited up for that.

About 25 miles down the scenic Curly Lewis Memorial Highway http://www.explorem123.com/points-of-interest/curley-lewis-memorial-highway/
is the Point Iroquois lighthouse.

And this pretty wildflower in the grass.

The it is on another 40 miles to Sault Ste. Marie, which is known as 'Soo', to visit the famous Soo Locks and take a boat tour.  These are big locks, big enough to handle huge freighters carrying iron ore and other raw materials.  The locks were a strategic location during WWII and the whole area was heavily defended in case of attack or sabotage as this would have been a huge blow to our war efforts.  https://www.michigan.org/article/trip-idea/things-you-may-not-know-about-soo-locks

Our tour boat.

Entering one of the locks and it is a big one!
Water level is almost up to the top.

That's a big ship!

Then it is on to Canada

 OMG look at that line.

We had to go about 250 miles today from Paradis to Sudbury, ON, but the boat tour was two hours, then lunch and then it took over two hours to get through the Port of Entry into Canada.  No idea why there was such a backup but thankfully it was dry, not too hot and once we got the bridge had a high point in the middle and we quickly got to the downhill side and were able to cut off our motors and coast which saved a lot since these bikes get hot, hot, hot creeping along in heavy traffic.

We finally got to our hotel about 7 pm tired and hungry and found the Shoeless Joe Sports Bar and Grill right in the vicinity of the hotel.  Whoo, hoo!
